Domaine d'Arbousset

Located in Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, in the heart of a vineyard classified in the Lirac appellation – Cru des Côtes du Rhône – Domaine d'Arbousset is the result of meticulous work from the vines to the cellar.

Family-run, independent and certified organic, this wine estate produces complex and truly exciting wines.

Having grown up among the vineyards, Gérald Lafont succeeded his father Yvon in 2003 and perpetuated the values that were transmitted to him. Along with his wife Julie Rouffignac, and their sons Rafael and Maxime, the family produces extremely small quantities of very high quality, minimal intervention wines from their 3 organic vineyards in the Lirac.

Their vineyards cover 3 specific terroir: Plateau des Baumes, Lauzes (Lieux Dit “Balouvières”) and the Plateau de Vallongues (Lieux Dit “La Claretière”).

Domaine d’Arbousset was discovered quite by chance upon a visit to Julie and Gérald’s house last summer.

We noticed the wines in their tasting room and were lucky enough to taste these extraordinary terroir-driven wines.

Of note, Domaine d’Arbousset’s wines offer an exceptional lightness and freshness despite the full fruit density. This is a testament to the exceptional skills of Julie and Gerald in managing these vineyards and picking the perfect balance between freshness and ripeness. The older oak simply supports the wines structure and the mono-cepage prevalence of wines in the range is perfectly suited to our tastes in Australia.
