Plaimont

Plaimont, founded in 1979, is a visionary cooperative in southwestern France, bringing together over 800 growers across 5,300 hectares.

Plaimont leads research on ancient grape varieties, helping to anticipate climate change and shape the viticulture and grape varieties of the future.

With the largest private vine conservatory in France, they craft authentic wines that reflect their unique terroirs, including Saint Mont, Madiran & Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, Jurançon. Their commitment to both innovation and tradition makes them guardians of France's viticultural heritage.

Plaimont is a superstar group of wineries, in the Gascogne region of the south west of France, completely owned by their growers in the truest co-operative model that we have worked with in France.

The rolling hills of Gascony have long been plundered by the UK retailers as an inexpensive and very reliable source of Sauvignon Blanc and Colombard for thirst quenching, well priced white wines. But the ancient, indigenous varieties of the region have been fiercely protected and promoted by the proud and passionate Plaimont growers and have carved out a niche following for these wines. Since its creation, Plaimont has acquired the most beautiful châteaux and estates in the region with a view to reconstituting emblematic vineyards and developing a new ambition in the service of the collective of growers. We will increase their range with coming shipments, including the late harvest Pacherenc de Vic Bilh.
