Ahrweiler Forstberg
The Forstberg Spätburgunder is a single-vineyard wine, which means that the grapes come from the best plots of the site Ahrweiler Forstberg. The vines are over 40 years old and some come from the local Pinot Noir clone “Stuber”. The Ahrweiler Forstberg Pinot Noir is fruity and balanced with a fine minerality and saltiness as well as intense cherry and red berry aromas and a silky structure.
Soil: very loamy soil mixed with greywacke and slate, partly loess and loess clay
Vineyard: ecological cultivation of the vineyards, focus on manual work on the steep slopes, 100% hand harvesting
Vinification: traditionally spontaneously fermented, not enriched, aging in barrels made of local oak, bottled gently and unfined
Alcohol: 11.5%vol
