Gunther Chereau
As one of the most exciting producers of four of the ten crus of Muscadet, Gunther Chereau has earned a reputation for creating truly remarkable wines.
This exceptional multi-generational family Domaine is owned and managed by mother and daughter Veronique and Aurore Günther Chéreau.
Veronique took over the estate from her father in 1989, bringing a wealth of experience and passion for winemaking. In 2011, Aurore joined her mother, bringing a modern vision and commitment to sustainability by converting parts of the vineyards to certified organic winegrowing methods. Together, they have built a legacy of excellence while honouring their family’s winemaking traditions.
The Domaine encompasses three distinct estates, each with unique terroirs that shape the character of their wines.
Le Château de Coing is defined by its gneiss mica soils, while Grand Fief de la Cormeraie features sandy soils, and Château de la Gravelle is recognised for its clay over gabbro soil. Günther Chéreau vinifies each parcel separately, crafting an impressive portfolio that showcases the diverse expressions of these exceptional sites. Many of their wines are aged extensively, resulting in breathtaking depth and elegance.
